Inspiring the next generation

Hundreds of local school children are benefitting from an inspirational series of creative writing workshops, as part of the Weaver Words Festival.

Thanks to funding from the Marshes Community Benefit Fund and Arts Council England, the festival committee has arranged for award-winning poet Mandy Coe to visit up to ten local schools giving free poetry workshops.

Schools which have applied to take part in the project include Helsby High School, Ashton Hayes, Aston, Helsby Hillside, Horn’s Mill, Kingsley CP, Manor House, St Luke’s and Weaver Vale primary schools.
