CAN ISLAM BE A FORCE FOR GOOD IN THE MODERN WORLD?
Saturday 28 April: Talk with Zia Chaudhry MBE
Author of Just Your Average Muslim
Merseyside barrister and author Zia Chaudhry provides a fascinating window into the world of Islam and explores how a multi-faith Britain can be a force for good.
Born in Burnley to Pakistani parents, Zia graduated in law from Manchester University, was called to the Bar in 1991 and has since practised as a criminal lawyer for both the prosecution and defence.
In his spare time he is a speaker and writer on interfaith matters and in 2015 was awarded an MBE for services to interfaith relations on Merseyside. His book Just Your Average Muslim addresses both the Muslim and non-Muslim reader in an effort to bridge the divide of today’s fractured society.
Place: Frodsham Community Centre
